LOST Addicts Blog is Published in New LOST Compilation!

Hello fellow LOSTIES! It's been awhile! I am posting this new entry to bring some pretty awesome news. While life has certainly taken priority over my former avid blogging lifestyle, my older posts seem to keep paying dividends! And that certainly is thanks, in part, to of all of you! Starting today, there is a new LOST Compilation available on all e-reader formats which includes a good portion of my LOST Blog entries from back in the day. It's called the Take 2 Guide to LOST: The Ultimate
Compendium
. I'm in good company with many of the other renowned bloggers from LOST's heyday!

If you're watching LOST for the first time, watched awhile ago but want to relive some of LOST's glory days, want to have an archived version of some old web material for posterity, or just give a little nod of appreciation to the writers that kept you entertained for 6 years (and beyond) I encourage you to check it out. And of course, pass the word on to any friends or family that might be interested. The book is $9.99 through the main e-book providers (Amazon, Google, iTunes, Nook, Kobo, etc...).

Sales information for each of these providers can be found here:
http://take2guide2lost.com/lost.sale.html

The Press Release is included after the jump for additional information about the book. But, first I wanted to thank everyone again for your readership over the years. It's been a fun extracurricular venture and it's nice to see that some of the work has an extended shelf-life! Hope everyone is doing well.

NAMASTE!

LOST: Comic-Con 2011 - New LOST "FOOTAGE"!

Hello LOSTIES!  It turns out that just because the show is over doesn't mean that the LOST fun can't keep going!  Executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse made a surprise appearance at Entertainment Weekly's TOTALLY LOST Comic-Con panel and brought some new footage with them.  Yes, it's mostly a joke but it's still pretty funny!  I posted the video as well as commentary on other comic-con panels on the TV Addicts Blog.  Go check it out!   If anything else LOST related comes up, you can be sure I'll still be updating this blog!  Until then, see you in another life bruthas!

LOST: One Year After The End

HELLO LOSTIES!!!  Happy Anniversary!  WOW, I can't believe a year has gone by since one of the greatest shows ever on television moved on into the bright white light.  It has been one crazy year since.  A fanbase divided straight down the middle on the legacy of the show, many shows vying to be the successor of said rabid fanbase, and everyone mourning and having a tough time letting go and moving on.  You can count me as one of the fans who can look back fondly on the LOST experience without any regret.  I think the finale still holds up and I do not believe it deterred from the 6 seasons that led to it.  We got many answers along the way.  Yes, there were some answers never provided, but there were also questions that were never questions.  And there are still things to discuss to this day about the show which makes me think it will stand the test of time.  No one can deny the experience we all went through over six years discussing this show.  We tried to recreate that experience this past year with several other shows.  While some got close, nothing yet has matched the power of that mysterious (create your own answer/theory) show about a strange mystical Island housing a bunch of tormented, damaged, broken people seeking redemption.   I will gladly say, that even a year later, I have been unable to move on.  In fact, to celebrate this anniversary, after typing this up I think I'll probably pop in the Blu-Ray and watch THE END all over again!

So, there was a couple things I wanted to do today in this unforgivably delayed blog posting.

  1. 1st, I had promised I would share some findings from the LOST Encyclopedia that I bought last summer.  There were a few things that I wanted to get to the bottom of when I first opened the book and I thought I'd share my findings, if anyone still cares!   Maybe along the way I will reflect on the show and how I feel a lot of it tied together.
  2. Filling the LOST Void - Let's reflect on the past year of Television and talk about shows that attempted and somewhat may have succeeded in filling that LOST void.
  3. Shameless Self-Promotion - Even though LOST has ended, that hasn't stopped me from writing about television.  I'll discuss what you've been missing and what you can anticipate if you decide to start following me and the loyal commenters at the TV Addicts Blog
That should keep us busy for a bit, right?  Let's dive in after the jump!

LOST: Epilogue - "The New Man in Charge" Recap & More

Hello LOSTIES!!!! It's been awhile hasn't it? Well, to be exact, it has been 3 months since "THE END" and it has felt like an eternity or some timeless plane of existence where we have all been waiting to move on. And move on we shall, but not before dissecting one last piece of ISLAND lore. Before we get into it though, I do want to do a brief plug for my new blogging venture coming to you this fall!  Check out my new site (www.tvaddictsblog.com) and stay tuned to the end of the blog for a little more of a description!

So for anyone that has picked up the Season 6 DVD/Blu-Ray or Complete Series Set probably is aware that it came with a special 12 minute chapter of LOST called "The New Man in Charge". (8/22/2013 update - it's on YouTube now!)  What is included in it are some additional answers that didn't logically fit into the final season of the show.  Now, no one should have expected some Emmy Worthy chapter of LOST writing and acting coming our way, but it was still entertaining to get some more pieces to the puzzle after the show was over.  A nice after-dessert snack if you will.   So keep reading on if you want to see what answers and information was included in the EPILOGUE.

LOST: Post Finale & Pre BluRay/DVD Discussion

Hello LOSTIES!   Hard to believe it has only been a little less than 2 months since LOST rocked our world (or totally destroyed depending who you talk to) with the fabulous series finale!  This is not going to be a long post, but I wanted to give anyone who is still checking out the blog a new COMMENTING section.  Lesson learned, after 600 comments, it gets really frustrating to check them!

But, while I'm here I figured I would post about a few things!

8/4 Updated - I have embedded a teaser clip from the Epilogue on the Season 6 and Complete Series DVD/Blu-Ray Sets!

LOST: Season 6 Episode 17 & 18 - The End

Hello LOSTIES!!!!  You must excuse me, I am still wiping the tears away from an incredibly emotional 2.5 hour experience!  What an episode, what a conclusion!  The feelings for this episode will, no doubt, be all over the map.  The conclusion to the Sideways Timeline will be the cause for much debate about the whole point of the entire series.  From this blogger's perspective though, I can not think of a more fitting end to the show that captured our imagination for 6 years.  There is only one way to definitively END a story.  They need to show us the very "END"!  And folks, that's exactly what we got!  I will try to weigh in on my opinions throughout the recap of that very point.  But clearly, things are being interpreted in different ways.  And I am guessing this is by design!  The significance of the end will not escape me, but there is a significance in this blog posting at the same time.  This is my final LOST recap (do I detect some tears out there?  There are some right here!).   An era is about to end.  And while this blog is not going anywhere and I will be posting things in the future, there will not be a new hour of LOST to discuss.  So, this may be a bit emotional for all of us.  But we're going to get through it!   I will save my thanks and goodbyes for the end.  For now, I have to say that this final episode of LOST was one great THRILL of a ride!  I was on the edge of my seat, I was crying, I feel like I need to go buy something at Target (man how many commercials were there?  Can't believe I decided to watch LIVE!  The LOST-Inspired Target commercials were very funny though), and of course there was enough intrigue in the episode to leave us talking for days, weeks, months, years!   I cannot help but give this episode a major WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!   And my entire LOST experience one giant SUPER WOW!!!!  I dread this folks, but it's time to get to the next paragraph!

LOST: Discuss "THE END" Until the Recap is Ready

Hey guys, obviously this recap is going to take awhile, so I wanted to give you the opportunity to start discussing your reactions to the episode.  I'm not going to be able to respond to anything here because I'll be busy writing!  I may chime in here and there but it will only delay the recap!

So enjoy and I'll get the recap up probably late in the morning.  Okay, so it went up at 3:30 pm!  I'm sorry!!  Here's the link.  See you then!
